Jen and Kori are the founders of MELI and friends since high school. Through their individual and combined journies they have come to realize that incorporating holistic mindfulness and wellness is key to positive change and growth. They are both living their happiest, healthiest and best lives and they are sharing their journey with you to support you in your pursuit of your best self.
Kori’s journey led her on the path to deepen her knowledge in nutrition, food sensitivities, supplements, functional medicine approaches and overall wellness when she became a mother of a special needs child. She has trained under Julie Matthews, certified nutrition consultant at Nourishing Hope, and has worked with countless doctors in varying disciplines to understand all aspects of wellness. Through her journey, she came to realize the importance of mindfulness and wellness for self-care and self-love in her pursuit of her best self. She pulled together all of her research over the years and created a lifestyle makeover. She saw improvement in her excess bloating, fatigue, mental wellness, and overall body by eliminating food sensitivities and sugar from her diet, following an intermittent fasting plan, implementing a mindfulness practice and getting daily exercise. She loves her healthier self and is committed to sharing the methodology for all to leverage.
Jen’s life hit a turning point when she struggled with illness and various health and emotional challenges for the better part of 2015. She realized it was time to start paying attention to her body, and the message her body was sending was that it was exhausted. That awakening and the realization that she wanted to change kick-started Jen’s journey to meliora and to prioritizing herself first. She did extensive research into different healing modalities, including talk therapy, EMDR, online classes, meditation, yoga and self healing tools and techniques. Along this path she learned to make small shifts in her daily habits to recharge her energy and make time for intentional mindfulness with self-care and self-love habits as the most important part of her day. Jen is passionate about helping others learn about the benefits of learning to tap into their parasympathetic nervous system to feel more regulated and healthy every day.
Together, Kori and Jen combined their passions to create MELI in an effort to help each person in their personal pursuit of their best self.
